Gritty Pretty · Vanity Affairs: Here’s exactly what facialist Melanie Grant puts on her skin.

Welcome to Vanity Affairs—a series where we document the beauty routines of notable people.

There are some people who have an I-can’t-put-my-finger-on-it kind of glow—a certain je ne sais quoi, if you will. You know the ones—their hair falls just right, their skin is dewy but never shiny, and they seem to exude confidence. In the interest of public service, we’ve set about tracking down these actors, influencers, models, founders, entrepreneurs, musicians, spokespeople (and more!!) to find out their secrets. Have you got your pen and paper ready?

Today, we’re taking a peek inside the beauty bag of Sydney’s top facialist, Melanie Grant.

With clients including Victoria Beckham, Cate Blanchett, Phoebe Tonkin and Lara Worthington, Melanie Grant is one of the most trusted facialists in the world. With a clinic in Sydney’s Double Bay, as well as Melbourne, Los Angeles and an outpost in Paris, Grant travels the world making her clients glow.

She’s now reaching even more people as the author of The Modern Guide to Skin Health, a book which offers expert skin advice and tailored routines so that all women can achieve a glowing complexion. So, don’t you want to know what a celebrity facialist puts on her skin? We know you do. We spill all her secrets below…

“My morning routine is surprisingly very simple. All of my skincare routine is really simple. I always cleanse, usually with a gentle cleanser and it depends if it’s winter or summer I’ll use a nourishing balm or a milk cleanser. So I alternate between the Augustinus Bader Cleansing Balm or Biologique Recherche Lait E.V. Milk Cleanser. Either of those. I only believe in doing one single cleanse in the morning—it’s sufficient. Then always an antioxidant serum, I’m a huge, huge believer in antioxidant serums—I think they’re just as important as sunscreen. At the moment I’m using the Augustinus Bader The Serum. It has vitamin C and polysaccharide complex, so it’s quite an all-encompassing treatment serum.

So moisturiser, it really depends on whatever I feel like on the day. The Augustinus Bader Rich Cream or The Cream, or I might use Biologique Recherche Creme ADN Metamorphique. If I wake up feeling dull or a bit tired—or I’ve had a wine the night before—I use Biologique Recherche Creme PIGM 400, it’s got pigment and gives this nice little radiance. So it depends on how I’m feeling, but always a moisturiser, and then I use The Eye Cream by Augustinus Bader and top it off with a sunscreen.

For masks, I love CHANEL Le Lift Flash Eye Revitalizer and CHANEL Le Masque.
