It’s no secret that I love a DIY facial at home – and some of my favourite masks, scrubs and treatments can be made using pantry stables and fresh produce found in your very own kitchen. Using raw ingredients is not only a sustainable and economical way to give your complexion a boost, it makes for a fun and frivolous Friday night activity. A few of my favourite DIY treatments are:

Manuka/ Raw Honey Mask – ✔emollient ✔healing ✔anti-microbial ✔rich in enzymes. Apply a fine layer after cleansing, leave to activate for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off, apply your serums and creams

Full Fat Greek Yoghurt Mask – ✔naturally-occurring lactic acid ✔cooling ✔calming ✔probiotic-rich. Apply a generous amount after cleansing, let activate until warms on the skin. Rinse off, apply your serums and creams

Banana + Avocado Mask – ✔rich in EFA’s ✔restorative ✔nourishing ✔antioxidant. Mash ¼ Avocado and ½ Banana and apply after cleansing, let activate for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off, apply your serums and creams

Ice Plunge – ✔flushes stagnant lymph ✔anti-inflammatory ✔de-puffs ✔brightens. Fill a clean bowl with cold water and add 1-2 trays of ice cubes. Plunge your face into the bowl for 10 seconds, remove and repeat as desired for up to 1 minute

Coffee + Coconut Body Scrub – ✔boosts blood flow ✔energises ✔anti-microbial ✔great for removing self-tan. Mix ½ cup of leftover Coffee Grounds with 1 cup melted Coconut Oil. Scrub over body using upwards, circular motions. Rinse in the shower to avoid mess

Brown Sugar + Olive Oil Body Scrub – ✔promotes circulation ✔great for dry, sensitive skins ✔nourishing ✔hydrating ✔antioxidant. Mix 1 cup Brown Sugar with 1/2 cup Olive Oil. Scrub over body using upwards, circular motions. Rinse in the shower to avoid mess

Oat Bath Soak – ✔rich in beta-glucan ✔vitamin E ✔healing ✔soothing. Tie 1 cup of rolled oats in a muslin cloth (of chop off the end of a pair of stockings) and let soak in the bath as long as desired

Apple Cider Hair Rinse – ✔deeply clarifies ✔removes product build up ✔promotes shine✔️Dilute 4 Tablespoons ACV with 1 cup water. Pour over shampooed hair and let sit for 5 minutes. Rinse and condition.

Enjoy!
